Yajooj Majooj is not a mythical nation or a group of people who will come in the future to destroy the whole world. They are in every country that controls governments, big landlords, bankers, stock owners, media owners, Kings, Amirs, dictators, and the elite.
If one looks at the third-world countries, especially the Islamic world, who perpetrate chaos and violence? The elite who own and control everything. In the subcontinent, there is another group that can be included: Yajooj Majooj, Pirs, and religious leaders.
Gog Magog is mentioned in the Jewish and Christian traditions too.
Throughout the Middle Ages, Vikings, Huns, Khazars, Mongols, Turanians some other nomads and even the Lost tribes of Israel were identified as Gog and Magog. Not so long ago, Communist Russia and China were called Gog and Magog.
Yajooj Majooj mentioned in 2 chapters of the Holy Quran. Chapter 18 Al Kahaf and Chapter 21 Al Anbiya.
Al Kahaf verse 94.
قَالُوا يَا ذَا الْقَرْنَيْنِ إِنَّ يَأْجُوجَ وَمَأْجُوجَ مُفْسِدُونَ فِي الْأَرْضِ فَهَلْ نَجْعَلُ لَكَ خَرْجًا عَلَىٰ أَن تَجْعَلَ بَيْنَنَا وَبَيْنَهُمْ سَدًّا .94
“They informed him: “O Zal Qarnain, indeed, here we have an elite group of perpetrators of chaos and violence (یاجوجَ و ماجوجَ مفسدونَ) in our land; so what about us offering you recompense if you create between them and us a protective division.” (translation by Aurangzaib Yousafzai)
Al Anbiya verse 95–96
وَحَرَامٌ عَلَىٰ قَرْيَةٍ أَهْلَكْنَاهَا أَنَّهُمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ ﴿٩٥﴾ حَتَّىٰ إِذَا فُتِحَتْ يَأْجُوجُ وَمَأْجُوجُ وَهُم مِّن كُلِّ حَدَبٍ يَنسِلُونَ ﴿٩٦﴾
21:95-96 “It becomes a state of prohibition (حرام) imposed upon those communities (علیٰ قریۃ) whose violation of our laws have sunk into disgrace and oblivion (اھلکناھا), that they can’t regain their former status (یرجعون), unless the perpetrators of corruption in their societies (یاجوج و ماجوج) are conquered/overcome (فُتحت) and they are plucked apart from all higher posts of power and authority (من کل حدب) and thrown away by cutting into pieces (ینسلون).” (translation by Aurangzaib Yousafzai).
Hebrew word (gag), usually meaning roof or rooftop:
Since a society was a “house,” its “rooftop” referred to that society’s governing council. The elite.
Gog Magog: the Rooftop and Place Of The Rooftop
The elite of a society are those in the upper classes or those who metaphorically live on the roof (top) of society. Those who control the institutions and wealth/well-being of a nation. Once these elite/Gog Magog are corrupted and only benefit each other rather than society as a whole, they must be purged by that society, which has been impoverished and destitute by these elites, otherwise, no nation can regain its former heights and glory. A bloody revolution is required to purge the nation from this scum.
