Allah (SWT) says in the Holy Quran:
Say, Never will we be struck except by what Allah has decreed for us; He is our (Maulana) protector.” And upon Allah let the believers rely. 9: 51
You are our protector (Maulana), so give us victory over the disbelieving people.” 2:286 (Last part of 2:286)
But Allah is your (Maula) protector and He is the best of helpers. 3:150
But if they turn away then know that Allah is your (Maula) protector. Excellent is the protector and Excellent is the helper. 8:40
It is very clear from the Holy Quran that our (Maulana, Maula) is only and only Allah. We should never call any person maulana or maula. It is against the commands of Allah. It seems very strange that the people who claim to be religious leaders use the word as a title. How ignorant they are, anyone can imagine. I sincerely request that my brothers and sisters refrain from using this word for any mortal.
May Allah guide us to the right path.
